Mike has it right on. I was taking superfoods, antioxidants and fish oil and I never did get burned. I don't have to put sun screen on at all. Thanks MIke for all you do for us. I have learned more from you than all the doctors that I have been to in my life.

Seeking the sun as a source of vitamin D is dangerous as there is compelling, irrefutable scientific evidence that unprotected sun exposure can cause skin cancer, including melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer. Vitamin D is an important nutrient for the body and individuals who are concerned about their vitamin D levels should seek guidance about safe options to obtain vitamin D, such as through a healthy diet which incorporates foods naturally rich in vitamin D, vitamin D-fortified foods and beverages, and vitamin D supplements. THANK YOU>>THANK YOU!!! This is the message we in the tanning industry have been struggling to get out but are being beat out by the billion dollar cosmetic industry. God Bless all the people that do their homework. For all of you wondering WHY big industry will NOT give you this message...look here. This is an extremely interesting and informative video. My friend and I are going through many issues with vitamin D deficiency, fatigue etc. due to lack of sun and vitamin D. I found the info in this to be very helpful and it is no surprise to me that certain industries are misinforming the public in order to make money off of us. Btw I don't mind the length of this video...it is worth watching regardless.

Your information regarding the importance of adequate vitamin D in our bodies is correct and informative. However, I am a red head and have been diagnosed with actenic keratosis (sun spots). Sun spots are caused by the cumulative effect of sun exposure and if not treated early can cause cancer. For the last 3 years I have avoided the sun and in doing so I became vitamin D deficient but since limiting my sun exposure I have not developed any new sunspots. I have finally found the "middle ground". Practicing moderation is the key. I now I limit my sun exposure to 1/2 hour per day and take vitamin D and fish oil supplements and feel much better with a clean bill of health on my last visit. It is important that you DO NOT take sun exposure lightly! Please consider an addendum to your video. Your video minimizes the damage the sun does to your skin and there are those that will take you at your word and think that it is OK to bake for hours because you said so. Please be

It is a good thing this information is getting out now. It's important to get out in the sun round noon. Moderation stays important. And dan't use the sunscreen; It does more harm than good. We have several supporting video's on our site right here: http://www.cutthecarb.com/category/benefactors/sunlight/

I think your message would be much more powerful if I didn't have to buy that the cancer industry knowingly keeps this informaiton from people. I agree that cancer treatment is an industry/business, but for the general public who needs to hear this information about vitamin D and sunlight, conspiracy theory is a huge turn off. If they disagree about the cancer industry then they immediately stop listening to anything else you have to say. Is the goal to demonize the cancer industry, or to provide the information needed to live a healthier life?

This is very interesting. I have fair skin and as a kid/teen I would burn like crazy--I'm sure it was malnutrition. As an adult, and much more health counscious, I just don't burn like that anymore, and I really wondered how that could happen. In fact, I went to a street fair a few weeks back, and I wasn't feeling well so I had been taking spirulina/chlorella supplements for a few days. I didn't take sunscreen, and I didn't even turn PINK. Everyone else got pink but me, it was just such a contrast to how things usually went. Lately, I haven't been taking the supplements...but I have been purposefully getting sun because I know it's important, and my back got pretty pink the other day. Before seeing this video I thought that was weird that I wouldn't burn at the street fair in the middle of the day, yet I'd started to burn while I was in the backyard at about 5pm. Now I feel like my experience pretty much proves (to me at least) what you're saying. Time for more spirulina...

very informative vid, but the length of this video is way too long. a lot of the information you present starts getting a little repetitive. while i appreciate the effort put into the making of this video, i think you would be much more effective in capturing the attention of more people by keeping it under 10 minutes. just some constructive criticism, as i really feel that this information needs to get out there.

A little long, but worth it! How long until this video gets yanked off the net? that is the real question! We need to wake people up! share this video with everyone! This is about truth and spirituality. I don't think Mike wants you to fire your doctor, just that you need to realize its all about the money, always has been, always will be. Thanks Mike! For not holding back!

Along with SuzCorner, I regretfully cannot watch this video. Even though I have "broadband", it's just not fast enough to view this. One thing I like about YouTube is I can click on a video, pause it and let it load up, then watch it once it's loaded so it's not skippy. (So far) This is not possible with these videos. I literally get through about 8 of your words before it pauses to load again. :(

One thing I'd to point out regarding diet and cancer rates in various races... working in the restaurant industry, you tend to notice patterns in the diets of people are various races as a whole. Asians have a very high rate of stomach cancer and it is largely due to the large amounts of smoked foods that they eat. Meanwhile, African-americans tend to eat high amounts of grilled food and prefer it to be cooked extra well-done; I'm sure we all know what happens to charred meat... which accounts for the high rates of prostate cancer in African-american males, in addition to Vitamin D deficiency.

My gf was diagnosed with "winter depression syndrome". I believe the scam was to get her on meds and such, rather than suggest a better diet. Our medical system is geared up for symptom treatment, not cure or wellness behavior. For more great diet info, check out this guy: http://dogtorj.com The skinny on the Big 4 Food Allergens: dairy, wheat, corn and soy - and the nutrient absorption problems they cause. Good news. Only thing I wonder about is the comment about the Chinese and Japanese. As these peoples are known to drink many green and white teas (known for their anti oxidants) and a great deal are mostly fish eaters, maybe having a lighter skin might not have such effects. However, I do think that copying the 'western' lifestyle will probably not do much good. As you say, there are often more factors in this equation.

Great vid Mike and great news as usual (avid follower). I've always found it hard to believe a natural adaptation of the human body was harmful. The whole skin cancer from sunlight myth can also be disproven by Dr. Max Gerson's teachings, one source/problem is not the reason for cancer but rather multiple variables creating system-wide problems which ultimately cause cancer. This also explains for many people (including me) why tan people are seen as more attractive (biologically perceived healthier). Ever since I started getting outside and lots of sun, I've been craving mangoes and blueberries, now I know why =D.

Great great great! Just one thing that really MUST be covered here that can also be a major contributor to skin cancer and that is SUNGLASSES. Our body produces melanin in our skin, to safely process the Sun's healthy light. The more UV, the more melanin we need. When our light-receptors (eyes) are blocked from measuring the UV, then we don't make the important melanin, and no amount of healthy foods will compensate. Comment from the author of "Sun of gOd"

I agree with most of what Mike says. However, I disagree with the statement that juice is good to drink. Juice is not a whole food; it does not contain fiber and some of the nutients are lost. In addition, the sugars in the food juiced are highly concentrated. So you will be ingesting a load of sugar. Not a good thing usually. "Vit. D2" is a misnomer. It is not a vitamin but a synthetic analog. It does not do the same thing as natural D3, and too much can cause toxicity. There is no such thing as too much D3, on the other hand; that is, there is no toxicity reported. If you take too much you may feel some slight nausea. I have done this myself. I just reduced my dosage and the nausea disappeared. Otherwise, even with large doses (I was taking 20,000 IU per day to build up my levels for about 3 months), there are no other ill effects. I take about 5,000 IU every other day now.

I've noticed in my learning recently that a lot of important health wisdom must be searched out in the USA. Reminds me that a speaker said that if he were put in charge, the first thing he'd do would be shut down the FDA. Anyways, It would be great if I could take this video to non-internet locations to show to families I work with. Any way to download it?

How true this is! When I used to live up north, I would gain weight and get depressed during the winter, but as soon as spring came and i was able to get out, I would drop the weight and start feeling great! Even when I was driving and looking into the sun made me feel better. One winter I did start using tanning beds and noticed that I did feel better, but I didn't keep it up since it was "bad" for me. Living in FL now, I feel great all year.

Could you please comment on the vitamin D2 vs. D3 issue? How does it relate to the foods we eat, the supplements we take and sun exposure? Thanks.

Jamie Ann Perez - Something important you need to understand. Mike Adams is extremely knowledgeable about natural health but he is not licenced to practice medicine. If you ask Mike how to treat your MS you are placing him in serious risk. Mike graciously shares fantastic information about many subjects but when it comes to specific people with medical conditions, he can't possibly know your body chemistry, diet, blood test results, scans of brain lesions, and many other things necessary to give you informed advice. td00174: African Americans are at greatest risk of vitamin D deficiency, and that's the reason they have the highest incidence of all chronic diseases. Those with deeply pigmented skin need to optimize their vitamin D blood levels through the use of supplements. The same is true of the elderly who also have trouble converting sunlight into 25(OH)D. So get a 25(OH)D blood test and keep increasing your dosage until you exceed 50 ng/mL. Typically the required daily dosage

For td00174: It is great to see such a young person really questioning everything and learning as much as possible. You certainly are very ambitious, and I believe that you can be a leader. I learned about nutrition in my 20s and has helped me quite a bit (I am 51), but wish I had access to all the available information now. I would have fed my children much differently (and they thought I was a health nut then). Good luck influencing your family and friends. Please please please offer an option for watching your video(s) in low-definition. I tried all afternoon to watch this video, and it is just too heavy duty for my broadband card. It would start rebuffering for 10+ seconds every 6 seconds (no kidding), which is no way to watch a 23 minute video. I tried to pause it the usual way to let it fully buffer before playing it, but no dice. You have it fixed to simply not buffer forward more than a minute or so. This renders your video completely unviewable for me and many people, and I cannot recommend it to my Facebook and Twitter friends (several hundred) until this problem is fixed on NaturalNews.tv Very disappointed. It was probably a pretty good video.

21 yr old african american male. I started with conspiracy theories...found out that all the history I ever learned was a lie/watered down. Dove into religion, became an atheist. Found out about the New Age Adenda and realized I fell for it, and have now become a strong Christian. Next stop: studying food and health on my own - I realized nothing they told me in health class ever mattered and was pretty much minimal information. Since learning and trying to teach people, I've learned my very own race has been the most difficult to get across to. Black people hate the sun. We will do anything but go into the sun. We don't want to get dark! I tell friends and family "Drink more water, get out in the sun.." and they just see me as a stumbling block between them and the pharmacy (my age and elders). I keep trying though. Some days I just wonder why I don't throw in the towel. Thanks for telling the truth Mike. I especially like the spirtuality piece. I wish I could talk to you personally

I have fair skin and used to burn quite easily in the sun. Since going raw, cutting out unhealthy meat, dairy, cheese, processed foods, and eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies, I hardly ever burn. I live in the South where it regularly makes it past 95 degrees F during the summer. I'm outside every single day, often laying out at noon time, and yet I don't burn at all. I just get a nice healthy tan. Sure, you can burn if you stay out too long, but this is harder to do once you eat a healthy diet and live a healthy lifestyle. Many people worry about getting enough vitamin d, especially on a vegan or raw vegan diet. If you want to get adequate vitamin d, you need to expose your body to sunshine. I wrote an article about vitamin d and a raw food diet here: http://www.fitonraw.com/2009/10/vitamin-d-and-the-raw-vegan-diet-a-recipe-for-deficiency/ Swayze

Ok, I been trying to hold of Mike Adams for years now. I read your newsletter everday!!! Always lokking for specific articles on MS. I've come across one. I have rrun thru the gambit of nurishing my body. I'm no longer able to prepare my own food so first the time in years I'm not getting top nutrtion. I have spent 1,000's of $$$$ on nutrition over the years. e.g. 100% raw organic food, top superfoods recommended in your newsletter..chia, bee pollen, royal jelly, garden of life vitamins, boku, on and on. Homeopathy, herbs............ Now I'm veiwing your video on sunlight. I am a sungoddess, but now with the MS the sun is kryponite for me. I need HELP please help. Oh been taking D3 and fish oil!!!!!!!! Jamie

Mike, I think the truth needs to be out about the value of sunlight and this video is a great step in that direction. However, I have always subscribed to the "less is more" adage. I strongly believe your video will get much more exposure if you cut it to 10 minutes. You can do it and no lose a single point you make and I really do believe it will be much more effective.

I have found it difficult to impossible to convince people of this information, but I did pass this video on. Maybe it will open their minds a bit more. With skin cancer in the family, I have to fight my family over the issue of sunscreen and staying out of the sun. I did get burned from staying out too long (and not enough anti-oxidants) and I was very concerned, since the burn was on my back where I had been burned by an exploding tiki torch 2 years ago. So, yesterday, I let my friend talk me into using sunscreen so that I could go swimming. We have been so indoctrinated into this way of thinking, it can be easy to slip back in times of fear. Now I will order some more chlorella and stick to my guns. Why am I listening to someone who eats hotdogs anyway?

This is of special interest to me... I have battled severe Rosacea for 2 years and each time I go out in the Hawaiian sun it would flare up. I started GREEN JUICING 5 weeks ago and am now able to go out in the sun again. The Rosacea is totally gone!

Enjoyed listening to this as I'm one that has always noticed that my skin is so much healthier when I use a tanning bed. My skin actually shines when I'm utilizing a tanning bed about two times a week. When I don't tan, my skin gets bumpy, rough and dry. My mood is elevated as well when tanning. I totally believe that suntanning beds are indeed safe when used correctly.... meaning moderation. I've tanned for 30 years and feel it's safer than the sun. I burn in the sun, but not in a 'good' tanning bed.

There's an extremely important fact missing about tanning beds. Most commercial tanning beds use magnetic bulb ballasts, which create dangerous electromagnetic fields. This carries it's own risk of cancer, among other things. If you use tanning beds, seek out ones made with electronic ballasts, as these are safe.

Great video! It is about time people realize the truth about sunlight. I really like the new website; however, just to let you know when I rated the video it automatically restarted, so you might want to fix that. In the video you talk about high quality nutritional supplements like spirulina and chlorella I have those and I have some of Dr. Group's supplements and some of Mercola's supplements, but what other brands would you recommend. I know Dr. Russell Blaylock recommends LifeExtension. Do you? And what about Newmark's products? And what brand do you recommend for herbal supplements? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also, I learned from Udo Erasmus that the more good oils you consume the less your skin burns and the more it tans. That is why they used oils in 'tanning" lotions. Thanks for all the information, Kevin Harlan
